Participant Understanding of practical application and development
This is a martial arts training centre, meaning it can involve physical contact with one or more practitioners in ways designed to develop and stimulate as closely as possible to develop defensive and offensive self-defence options available when confronted with physical aggression and/or threatening behaviour. As in any other physically demanding recreational activity, there is always a risk of injury. These contact activities are not undertaken by beginners as it is obviously necessary to build skill sets and drill the motor skills to create these practical outcomes. Any person participating in a class conducted by Sifu Mick Spinks Jin Wu Koon does so with the full understanding that whilst it is the policy is to minimise this risk, the nature of contact physical activity prevents its total elimination. Persons participating in classes conducted by Sifu Mick Spinks Jin Wu Koon do so of their choice and at their own risk. However it is not compulsory to spar or undertake any of the contact drills which are offered at the academy, so if you are not confident or do not wish to participate in any of these activities please make it known to the instructor or senior instructor. Beginners do not spar. Beginners do practice some application self defence drills.
